PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Sprinters Thomas Keane-Dawes (Camden, N.C.), Allodin Fothergill (New Hempstead, N.Y.), Damian Miles (Teaneck, N.J.) and Akheem Gauntlett (Roselle, N.J.) and designated hitter Bryan Chaikowsky (Bethlehem, Pa.) have all been named University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the period ending April 25.

The four track Hawks were part of the school-record-breaking 4-by-200-meter squad that broke the mark on consecutive days at the 116th Penn Relays at Franklin Field this weekend. The group ran 1:23.07 on Friday and followed that up with a 1:22.97 performance Saturday.

The same four also finished seventh in the 4-by-100 with a time of 40.53.

UMES is off until the MEAC Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on May 5-8.

Chaikowsky helped lead the baseball team to 2-2 week, including a series win at Florida A&M over the weekend in MEAC action.

Chaikowsky hit .563 (9-for-16) with a home runs, eight RBIs, five runs scored, three doubles, stolen bases and three walks.

He was 4-for-4 in a 15-9 win on Saturday, with a double, two runs, four RBIs and two steals.

The Hawks (4-34, 3-11 MEAC) are back in action Tuesday against Lehigh with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
