UMES ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO TRAINING STAFF

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore has announced the addition of two new members to the athletics training staff for the 2012-13 season. LaShawn Nastvogel becomes the new strength and conditioning coach and Kevin Brown is the new assistant athletic trainer.
Nastovgel joins the department after being one of the top personal trainers on the Eastern Shore. A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, she graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006, earning a Master's Degree in health promotion and education in 2008 after being a strength and conditioning graduate assistant for two years. She was a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at World Gym for the past two years and also served as an adjunct instructor at UMES and Salisbury University.
Brown comes to UMES after two years at York College of Pennsylvania as the assistant athletic trainer. The 2004 Frostburg State graduate earned his Master's Degree from Salisbury University in applied health physiology in 2010 after two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. He has worked with numerous student-athlete programs his last four years, including basketball, soccer, track & field and lacrosse. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Professional Rescuer.
Each will be intricate members of the UMES athletics staff as the 2012-13 season begins.
