PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Junior Petra Jerabkova (Czech Republic) and freshman Khalil Rmidi Kinini (Malaga, Spain) have been named the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of September 9. The honor is the first of the year for the athletics program as the two student-athletes landed the first awards of their collegiate careers.

Jerabkova was named to the Sacred Heart University Hampton Inn Invitational All-Tournament team this past weekend. The junior volleyball player tallied 24 kills, 41 assists, a pair of aces, 32 digs and six total blocks over three matches and 11 sets. She came up one dig shy of a triple-double in the Lady Hawks’ opening match against Manhattan.

Rmidi Kinini was the top finisher for the UMES men’s cross country team at the UMES Lid-Lifter this past Saturday. The freshman finished the race with an eighth-place time of 16:42.07. His effort helped guide the men to a second-place finish at the event as the Hawks concluded action with 57 points.
