PRINCESS ANNE, Md.  - Sophomore Diara Lewis (Columbia, S.C.) and Freshman Chris Adams (Brentwood, Md.) have been named the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of October 22nd. Both athletes are receiving the award for the first time.

Lewis contributed 22 kills, 2 assists, and 12 digs, as the volleyball team played in two five-set matches this week. In Friday's game against Norfolk State, Lewis was second on her team in kills (9), assists (1), and digs (11). Her week ended with another solid performance at Delaware State on Sunday, finished tied for first in kills (13), adding one assist and one dig. On the season, Lewis has contributed 80 kills and 288 assists, along with 60 digs and five aces.

Adams earns the men's award for his performance in the alumni game on Saturday. The freshman went 2-for-3 with one RBI in the 5-4 win over the Hawk Alumni team. His performance in this game, which concludes the baseball team's fall schedule, is working to earn a starting infield spot when the spring season begins in February.
