PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Department of Athletics is now accepting applications for UMES Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2014. The inductions of the 2014 Hall of Fame Class will be affiliated with the University's Homecoming, held the week of February 10, 2014 with the actual induction taking place on February 14, 2014.

"We want to recognize all deserving Hawks who competed athletically," said Keith Davidson, Director of Athletics. "The Hall of Fame committee wants to look at all Hawks worthy of this great honor and wants our fans, friends, alumnus and supporters to fill out a nomination form; then the committee can look at the pool of applicants and make the best selections based on the criteria they have set forth."

In celebration of the Hall of Fame induction year, the UMES Department of Athletics will be releasing a new series of feature stories title, "50 Shades of Maroon & Grey." The series featuring both written and video features on current Hall of Famers will debut in early November and continue through the inductions until 50 members of various shades of contribution will be profiled.

Nominations are due back to the Department of Athletics by December 9, 2013 and the class will be announced in early 2014. Nomination forms can be located on and filled out online at the UMES Official Athletic website, www.umeshawks.com or by calling 410-651-6496 and having one sent directly via mail or e-mail.
