UMES COLLECTING 125 GREATEST MOMENTS IN HAWK ATHLETICS
Dec. 20, 2011
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - As part of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) celebrating 125 years of pride, distinction and accomplishments, the department of athletics is collecting the most 125 most memorable moments in Hawk Athletic history. At this year's Hall of Fame induction and the following day at Homecoming, UMES will present "125 Great Moments in Hawk Athletics."
To collect those, moments, UMES, formerly Maryland State College, is asking all of their alums, faculty, staff, students, friends and fans to submit, via mail or e-mail, some of their favorite and most memorable moments in intercollegiate athletics at the University. There are no wrong answers. They are simply trying to collect what the Hawk faithful think has made athletics at the University great.
Friends, fans and alums may submit one or 100, but they have to be events in Hawk Athletics. They cannot include intramurals, club sports or a competition against friends, but should be from teams or individuals representing the University in intercollegiate competition. The athletics staff will then gather 125 of those moments and order them chronologically and unveil them, several at a time, in the weeks leading up to the Hall of Fame induction. There they will be on display as well as in the W.P. Hytche Center during the Homecoming games.
Please e-mail your list to firstname.lastname@example.org (with the subject line 125 greatest Hawk moments) or drop them in the mail (typed if possible) to:
G. Stan Bradley
UMES asks that submissions be as specific as possible with the year it occurred, people involved and why it is thought to be an important moment in Hawk Athletics. All submissions should be in by January 15, 2012. Anyone with questions are encouraged to call 410-651-6499.
