Bret Lasky joined the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletics Department in September of 2009. Lasky will serve as a play-by-play announcer for Hawks men's and women's basketball, volleyball and baseball. He will also assist in the daily operation of the media relations department.
During the spring and summer, Lasky serves as one of the play-by-play voices for the nearby Delmarva Shorebirds (A-affiliate, Baltimore Orioles). He also assists in the media relations department for the Shorebirds.
Lasky graduated from the University of Maryland in 2007 with a degree in Journalism. During his senior season, he served as the Sports Director of WMUC, the student run radio station. Throughout his tenure at Maryland, he broadcasted Terrapin athletic events. In 2006, he called the NCAA women's basketball national championship game in Boston.
In 2008, he served as the Assistant Director of Broadcasting and Media for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Advanced-A, Atlanta Braves).
Lasky's other broadcast credentials include stops with Fayetteville State University, ISP Sports and the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League. |
