Pat Nativio
Head Athletic Trainer

 
Pat Nativio is in her fourth season as Head Athletic Trainer and fifth overall year at UMES. She oversees the day-to-day operations of medical services for all Hawks intercollegiate athletics. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Nativio earned a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Waynesburg (Pa.) University and an M.S. from Slippery Rock (Pa.) University. She gained additional athletic training experiences at Grove City College and at the Greenville Orthopedic Association in Pennsylvania.

Nativio has taught at Western Michigan University in the Health and Physical Education Department, and is an approved clinical instructor for the Athletic Training program at Salisbury (Md.) University.

Nativio currently resides in Hebron, Md.

 

 

Taryn Arvold
Assistant Athletic Trainer

Taryn Arvold is entering her third season as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at UMES. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Arvold works with the Lady Hawks volleyball team. She came from Rock Canyon High School in Denver, Colo., where she was an athletic trainer and coached the girls and boys tennis teams from 2005-2007.

Arvold was graduate assistant athletic trainer at Humboldt State University and is currently writing her thesis in kinesiology. While at HSU, Arvold earned degrees in Exercise Science and Athletic Training from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash. and was a student athletic trainer for four years.

She currently resides in Princess Anne, Md. .
