March 13, 2006 RALEIGH, NC - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men's and Women's Basketball Teams were not the only ones in competition in Raleigh this past week. The school's cheerleaders were there as well and had a good outing as UMES took second place in the co-ed division of the MEAC Cheerleading Championships. The Hawks also placed two individuals, Teresa Oxendine and Baron Gates, on the MEAC All-Star Team, impressing the crowd with their athleticism and talent. This was Oxendine's second consecutive year receiving MEAC All-Star honors. The co-ed division was won by South Carolina State (SCSU) while Morgan State (MSU) took first in the All-Girls Division. MSU also took home overall honors, followed by SCSU and Bethune-Cookman.
