See the photo shoot before the Spring 2013 Graduation. 05/15/2013 Princess Anne Street FestSee Joey Gardner's shots of the UMES student-athletes receiving Proclamations from the Town of Princess Anne. 2012 Outdoor Season: Set new 400-meter hurdles record (50.69) in MEAC Championships ... also helped to set new 4x100-meter relay record with a 39.71 (second leg) ... finished second in 400-meter hurdles at George Mason Invitational (4/4/12) ... took a season's best second-place finish in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 10.46 seconds ... later broke and set a new record in the 400m hurdles with a 50.46 in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Prelims. 2011 Outdoor Season: Finished regular season 12th in the nation in the 400m hurdles ... broke 39-year-old school record in 400m hurdles with time of 50.38 at the MEAC Championships ... took three medal finishes ... took 14th place with a time of 51.70 in the NCAA 400m hurdles quarterfinals ... earned a third place finish in the 200m at the Donald Webster Invitational with a sprint of 21.38 ... ran the 400m at the Wake Forest Open, finishing in 48.53 ... served as first leg of MEAC Champion 4x400-relay team with time of 3:12.04 as well as IC4A Champion 4x100-relay team with finish of 40.19 ... also part of UMES's fastest relay teams: 4x100 (second leg, 39.93 - MEAC Championships), 4x200 (third leg, 1:23.81 - Penn Relays), sprint medley (second leg, 3:23.80 - Florida Relays). 2011-12 Indoor Season: Broke the school record in the 60m dash with a time of 6.78 at the UMES Collegiate Invitational and also the 200m with a time of 21.06 at the IC4A Championships ... Recorded a season-best time of 50.02 at the UMES Coach O Invitational in the 400m ... Named MEAC Athlete of the Week on January 25 ... Earned five gold medals throughout the season ... Also competed at the NYU Metropolitan Coaches Invitational, Navy Invitational, MEAC Championship and Albany Great Dane Classic. 2010 Cross Country Season: Competed in one meet for UMES ... Recorded a 5k time of 28.16.14 at the Delaware State Open. High School: Participated in track & field, cricket and soccer ... personal best times of 52.42 (400m hurdles) and 21.02 (200m). Personal: Born September 14, 1989 in Jamaica ... Has one sister and one brother ... Major is English (non-teaching) ... Says his family has influenced him the most as they always show that they believe in him, which makes him stay focused ... Best advice received was from his high school coach who told him to focus on what he has to do, not his opponent. ... Enjoys singing, reading, listening to music and dancing ...
