Now in his fourth year at UMES, Javid Brathwaite brings a wealth of experience and strong work ethics. His duties include overseeing the pole vault, jumps and hurdles. Under Brathwaite's guidance, four Lady Hawks garnered top five finishes in the pole vault at the 2004 MEAC Indoor & Outdoor Championships. This season Brathwaite will continue his focus on pole-vault, looking to carry on the team's dominance in the MEAC Conference. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Brathwaite graduated from UMES in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He was a valuable asset to the track and field program for four years, winning silver medals at the 2001 MEAC Championships in the 400m hurdles and as a member of the 4x400m relay team. |
