MEAC Championships

Highlights of the 2015 MEAC Indoor Championships. The men took third while the women finished fifth.

2014 Cross Country: Participated in three events this season ... earned a 21:51.35 at the UMES Lid Lifter to come in 24th, a 27:11.8 to finish 33rd at the Del. State Invite and a 36:36.4, 51st place time at the DSU XC Invitational.  

2015 Indoor Season

2015 Outdoor Season:
Finished sixth in the MEAC Championships in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.30 seconds ... qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Champs in the 110H, taking 10th with a time of 14.71 seconds ... also raced in the 400 meter hurdles, taking 14th at MEACs with a time of 54.66 seconds ... best time was 54.13 seconds, a fifth place finish at Wake Forest ... helped in the 4x400 relay where the team finished 11th at MEACs.

High School/Club:
competed in basketball, track and field and swimming ... is the Alaska state record holder in the 110m hurdles and the Cook Inlet Conference record for the 110m and 300m hurdles ... member of the Alaska Running Academy.

born on January 21, 1995....son of Jeanette Showalter and Lydon McEwen...born in Norfolk, Virginia...business major at UMES...also on the debate team at Bartlett...voted most improved athlete and received two MVP awards...involved with the NAACP and the National Forensics League...pregame ritual is closing his eyes and visualize the race ahead...personal best sports moment is breaking the conference and state records in the 110 m and 200 m hurdles...best non-athletic accomplishment is graduating high school....hopes to open a track & field training facility upon graduation...favorite quote is "pain is temporary, but quitting lasts forever"...hobbies outside of sports include singing, dancing, and traveling...favorite book is Anthem by Ayn Rand...personal athletic goals include qualifying in the NCAA preliminaries, competing at the NCAA Nationals and representing Grenada at the World Junior Championships.
