BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore track and field teams wrap up their indoor season this weekend at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference and Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America Championships in Boston, Mass.

Eleven UMES athletes competed during day one of the championships and many qualified for Sunday's finals.

Senior Allodin Fothergill (New Hempstead, N.Y.) finished third in the 400-meter dash trials with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 47.11. This time also qualifies him to compete on day two.

Sophomore Jermol Dix (Catonsville, Md.) will also continue his indoor season on Sunday in the 55-meter high hurdles with his preliminary qualifying time of 7.71.

In the 200-meter dash trials, sophomore Damian Miles (Teaneck, N.J.) qualified with a 21.68, good for 12th place.

Junior Eunice Jones (Lanham, Md.) and sophomore Cynthia Anais (Paris, France) finished fifth and eighth, respectively, in the women's 500-meter trials with times of 2:10.14 and 2:10.63.

Jones and Anais will join sophomore Melina Gallas (Paris, France) and freshman Emilie Ducados (Paris, France) in the 4x400 relay finals tomorrow after their fourth place finish of 3:47.59.

The Hawks' day begins on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. when freshman Marcus Brown (Gaithersburg, Md.) competes in the Shot Put finals.
