BOSTON, Mass. - Senior sprinter Allodin Fothergill (New Hempstead, N.Y.) recorded his season-best time in the 400-meter dash today during day two of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference and Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America Championships in Boston, Mass.

Fothergill, who has already provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships next weekend, finished first with a time of 46.45, to earn 10 points for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's indoor track and field team.

In the 200-meter dash, sophomore Damian Miles (Teaneck, N.J.) tallied one point for the Hawks with his eighth place finish, registering a time of 21.68. Sophomore Jermol Dix (Catonsville, Md.) just missed the 55-meter high hurdles finals with his semi-finals 10th place finish time of 7.67.

Freshman Marcus Brown (Gaithersburg, Md.) also competed on Sunday, placing 16th in the shot put with a distance of 15.26 meters.

In all, the UMES men finished the day in 23rd place, with a total of 11 points.

The Lady Hawks fared similarly, finishing with 10 points, which was good for 27th place.

The 4x400 relay team consisting of junior Eunice Jones (Lanham, Md.), sophomore Cynthia Anais (Paris, France), sophomore Melina Gallas (Paris, France) and freshman Emilie Ducados (Paris, France), finished fifth overall with a time of 3:45.74.

 

 

Jones and Anais also competed in the 800-meter dash, finishing with respective times of 2:15.05 (seventh) and 2:09.08 (fifth).

In the 500-meter dash, Ducados placed ninth with a time of 1:15.36.

UMES finish their indoor season next weekend at the NCAA Championships, held in Little Rock, Ark.
