NEW ORLEANS, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Tuesday morning the NCAA Division I National Team Rankings for indoor track and field and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's squad was ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic Region for the first time in school history. In addition to the team's regional ranking, the Hawks are slated 70th in the nation, out of over 300 schools. With his spectacular performance at this past weekend's Penn State National Open, senior Allodin Fothergill (New Hempsted, N.Y.) is ranked fourth in the nation with his time of 46.52 in the 400-meter dash. This time is a NCAA Provisional Qualifier for the National Championships. Texas A&M is ranked first in the nation in both the men's and women's polls. UMES graduate assistant coach Javier Olivas is both a product of their track and field program and alum of the university.
