VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Senior Allodin Fothergill (New Hempstead, N.Y.) was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. Fothergill continues to dominate on the track and placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46:52 in this past weekend's Penn State National Invite in College Station, Pa. This time broke the previous record of 46.55, which was set in 2004. Additionally, with this time, Fothergill leads the MEAC, ranks fourth overall in the nation in the event and is provisionally qualified for the NCAA National Championships. Sophomore Cynthia Anais (Paris, France) was also named as "Other Top Performer" for her performance at the Penn State National Invite. Anais captured the gold in the 800-meter with a time of 2:10.38 and was a part of the 4x400 relay team that finished among the top ten with a time of 3:48.27. The Hawks next compete in the Armory New Balance Games in Manhattan, N.Y. on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6.
