PRINCESS ANNE, MD - Kimani Kirton (St. Thomas, Jamaica/Kingston College) will join fellow Hawk Tanisha Wisdom at the 2007 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, held March 9-10 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Kirton provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the shot put at Bucknell's Open & Multi meet. The junior set a new school record with his throw of 18.72 meters (61-42.00 feet). Kirton fell just shy of qualifying for NCAA's earlier this week until two participants dropped out of the national pool.

"Kimani has consistently been a strong performer for us," said Head Coach Ernest Barrett. "This is an excellent achievement for him and the entire men's program."

Kirton will vie for a championship on Saturday, March 10 with the preliminary round of the men's shot put.
