PRINCESS ANNE, MD. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) indoor track teams will compete in thirteen meets over the 2013-2014 Indoor Season. This includes three home meets at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center, and ten road meets in four different states, from Massachusetts to Virginia.

The season begins with the women’s team heading to Annapolis on (December 3rd) to compete in the Navy Lid Lifter meet on the grounds of the United States Naval Academy. The teams will then host the Coach O Collegiate Invite on (December 6th) and the Coach O High School Invitational on (December 7th).

In January, the team will travel to four different meets, but first they will host the UMES High School/Collegiate Invite on (January 4th). The women and men will then compete at the Navy Invite in Annapolis, with the women’s meet on (January 9th) and the men’s meet taking place on (January 11th). After Annapolis, both teams travel to The Armory in New York City for the Great Dane Classic on (January 17th), hosted by the University of Albany. The Hawks will wrap up the month on (January 25th) when the men will travel to Navy for a meet and the women will travel to Fairfax, Va. For the Patriot Games.

February consists of two more meets, the Columbia Meet in New York on (February 1st) and the Collegiate New Balance Meet at The Armory in New York on (February 7th and 8th) before the team travels for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Championships at the Prince George’s Sports Complex in Landover, Maryland from (February 13th through the 15th). 

After two weeks, the team will compete in one more meet, the Boston Fast Track at Boston University in Massachusetts on (March 2nd). Following that will be two national championship meets—the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Boston University from (March 7th through the 9th) and the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico on (March 14th and 15th).


 

 

Other than the Navy Lid Lifter (12/3) and the Navy Women’s Invite (1/9), both of which begin at 4:00pm, all other meet times are currently listed as TBA. For more information on start times, please check out previews and updates at www.umeshawks.com
