PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) track team, just a couple weeks removed from the conclusion of their indoor season, will begin their outdoor season this Saturday, March 22nd, at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis. The meet will begin a stretch of outdoor meets that will run into the month of May.

After the Navy Invitational, the Hawks will split between two meets next weekend—the two-day Adidas Raleigh Relays on March 28th and 29th hosted by North Carolina State University, and the UMBC Big Dawg Invite at UMBC Stadium in Baltimore on March 29th.

The teams will trek to North Carolina once again to lead off April, when they compete in the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point University on April 4th and 5th. The following weekend, the Hawks will split teams for a second time, with one team heading to Baltimore for the Don Webster Invitational hosted by Coppin State, while the other team travels to Fairfax, Va. for George Mason’s Spring Invitational. Each of these meets will be held on April 12th. On April 18th and 19th, the team will rejoin as one to compete in the Morgan Legacy on Morgan State’s Baltimore campus. Philadelphia will await the Hawks to cap off April as the team plays in the prestigious Penn Relays from April 24th-26th.

May signals the beginning of postseason play with the MEAC Championships on May 1st-3rd, hosted by North Carolina A&T in Greensboro. Hawks who qualify will then travel to Princeton, N.J. for the IC4A/ECAC Championships from May 16th-18th, followed by the NCAA Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla. From May 29th-31st and the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon from June 11th-14th
