UMES Runners Jones and Melek Named MEAC Cross Country Runners of the Week

2011 Cross Country Season: Placed first in both Delaware State meets ... He ran a 15:34.27, a season's 5k best, in the Delaware State Open ... Finished third in the UMES Cappy Anderson meet and MEAC Championship ... Posted a 25:44.60 in the championships.

2011 Indoor Season: Season-bests: Mile - 4:34.96 (UMES Collegiate Invitational); 3000m - 8:48.25 (NYU Metropolitan Coaches Invitational); 5000m - 15:11.72/team-best (Navy Invitational) ... Also competed at the Penn State Nationals, UMES Coach O Invitational, MEAC Championship, Giegengack Invitational and Albany Great Dane Classic.

2010 Cross Country Season: One-time MEAC Athlete of the Week and MEAC Championship Top Performer ... Finished in the top-five in all but one meet for UMES ...
