VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) left no doubt who was the dominant team today at the NSU Cross-Country Invitational. They took the team title and the individual title while placing four finishers in the top ten.

Alfred Singoei won the 8K race with a time of 25:16, 20 seconds ahead of the second place finisher Adam Hutton of Longwood University. Not far behind for the Hawks was Geoffrey Rutto in third place with a time of 26:17. Hot on Rutto's trails was Clayton James who finished the course with a time of 26:36 while Christopher Havrilla came home sixth with a time of 26:49. The Hawk's fifth finisher was Glenn Grainger in 18th with a time of 31:23. William McCullough, Ronnie Beard and Mikel Thomas were 20th, 23rd, and 25th respectively.

The Hawks scored 30 points in the meet, four less than second place Longwood who tallied 34. Hampton came home third with 60 points. Virginia State was fourth.

UMES is back in action next weekend looking for their third meet title this season at the University of Delaware.
