PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --Teammates Zavior Brown and Codjo Gbedo marked the highest finishes for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Cross Country men's team, while Melina Gallas took the women's best finish. Brown and Gbedo placed fifth and 10th, respectively, with Gallas earning 11th in the Delaware State University Hornet Invitational. Gallas recorded a season's best performance in a time of 21:29.41. Brown ran a 28:37.39, and Gbedo finished in 29:57.92.

Both teams finished third in the Invitational, which marked the women's best finish this season. Alonzo Jarmon marked a 32:00.99 time, and 14th place finish. Shaquille and Javierelle Turner finished in almost dead-even times; posting finishes of 33:24.78 and 33:24.96, respectively.

Jennell Wade and Nancy Yao finished one behind the other, with Wade posting a 24:58.53 while Yao placed with a 25:18.86. Aaron Chatman, Kraig Webb and Joshua Booze rounded the Hawks finishers. Chatman posted a 34:10.96, with Webb and Booze marking times of 35:29.95 and 41:44.29, respectively.

The Hawks will run in separate meets Oct. 13, with the men running at Delaware State University and the women competing in the University of Delaware Blue & Gold Invitational.
