PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --In her first collegiate race for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Petra Kubesova earned silver in the College of William & Mary Tribe Open. Kubesova ran a 21:51.98, which is the fastest 6,000-meter time for a woman at UMES.

Teammate Latitia Salley finished with a time of 25:31.36. Emilie Ducados came in shortly after Salley with a time of 27:17.57. Melina Gallas and Jennell Wade finished their race in times of 28:39.97 and 29:20.51, respectively. Annis Mars was seconds behind Wade, posting a time of 29:46.03 in her race.

Nancy Yao and Latasha Moore rounded out the Hawks' runners for the Open, with their times of 33:57.12 and 35:54.56, respectively. The Hawks will return to Princess Anne, Maryland to compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship Saturday, Oct. 27.
