PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --Continuing to run with a passion and eventual hopes of sweeping the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 29), University of Maryland Eastern Shore teammates Cynthia Anais and Eunice Jones finished 6th and 7th, respectively, in the University of Delaware Invitational Saturday. Zavior Brown finished 8th for the UMES men's team.

Anais notched her fourth top 10 finish of the season, and took sixth place finishing in a time of 24:20.83. Jones followed Anais across the finish line with her time of 24:21.47. Jones, like Anais, has been a consistent performer for the Hawks this season. Jones has finished first once, and in the top 10 two other times this season.

Anais and Jones helped the Hawks to a fourth place finish of the 13 total teams competing in the University of Delaware Invitational. The Hawks finished with 91 total points in the meet.

On the men's team, Brown had the Hawks top finish when he took 8th place in a time of 27:40. 64. Brown was the only Hawk to place in the top 10. Teammate Shadrick Maritim finished 33rd with a time of 29:36.12.

The Hawks next meet will be on Oct. 29 when it hosts the MEAC Championships. The University of Maryland Shore will also have the privilege to host the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Mid-Atlantic Regional on Nov. 12.
