PRINCESS ANNE, Md.  – Junior Petra Jerabkova (Prague, Czech Republic) and freshman Khalil Rmidi (Malaga, Spain) have been named the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of September 23. Jerabkova accepts the award for the second time, while Rmidi posts his third distinction of 2013-14.

Jerabkova collected her third All-Tournament Team honor in as many weeks, this time for her three-match outing at the Blue & White Classic, hosted by the University at Buffalo. She posted 13 kills, 32 assists and 13 digs in three matches. She notched six kills and nine assists against Buffalo, but her biggest game of the tournament was against Valparaiso, where she had four kills, 16 assists and six digs.

Rmidi continued to set the pace for the men’s cross country team with his performance at the Cappy Anderson Invitational this past weekend.  He took home the top UMES time with a sixth-place finish in 27:39.13, which was nearly one minute faster than the closest Hawk competitor. It was his effort that helped lead UMES to a fourth-place finish at the event.
