Dustin Longchamps begins his first year as a member of the UMES coaching staff. Longchamps will be responsible for assisting Coach Bigwood with the development of the Hawks pitching staff.

Longchamps starts his coaching duties after a brilliant two year career on the mound for UMES. He finished his playing career with the Hawks in 2007. Longchamps finished his senior season as the team leader in wins (4), games started (16), innings pitched (112), strikeouts (101), and lowest opponent's batting average (.253). He garnered MEAC All-Tournament Team honors, working eight innings against Florida A&M to earn a win over the second seeded Rattlers.

As a junior, Longchamps was named to the All-MEAC Second Team. He finished the season with a 7-6 record and a 4.40 ERA. Longchamps started 14 games and made 15 appearances, while posting a team-high seven complete games and 60 strikeouts. He gave up 58 runs, 81 hits, 54 walks, 11 doubles, two triples, and held opponents to a .249 batting average in 86 innings of work.

Before coming to UMES, Longchamps played two years for Central Maine Community College. He was named to the New England Club Baseball All-Star (NECBA) team in 2003, and also threw the only no-hitter in Central Maine's history.

Longchamps graduated from UMES in the fall of 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. He is a native of Lewiston, Maine and currently resides in Salisbury, Md.
