2015: Was the lone Hawk to compete in every single game this season and started in every contest but one ... blossomed into a middle of the order hitter, increasing his average from .186 to .260 in 2015 ... clocked six doubles and a homerun along with 20 RBIs ... also registered a .311 slugging percentage and a .316 on base percentage ... also stole six of seven bases ... hit .313 in MEAC play ... went 2-for-5 at George Washington March 3rd ... contributed two RBIs in a 2-for-4 performance against Coppin on March 15th ... the following day James delivered a walk-off single to sweep Coppin State ... had a stretch where he went 9-for-12 with two RBIs, two doubles and five runs scored ... after a 2-for-4, three RBI day April 18th versus DSU, James' average touched .300 ... collected three RBIs in the MEAC Tournament.
2013: Earned Second Team All-MEAC at second base ... started in 52 games, playing mainly second base with some games in center field ... hit .244 with 11 doubles, 15 walks and 17 RBI ... earned four four-game hit streaks during the year ... earned three multi-hit games against Lafayette, including 2-for-2 day with a pair of RBI in game two (3/9) ... started Norfolk State series (3/23) going 2-for-4 with a run ... went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the win over George Washington (4/23) ... scored both runs in a 2-for-4 day against Georgetown (4/30) ... named to the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.
2012: Primary shortstop for the Hawks, playing in 50 games with 46 starts to lead all UMES freshman in time played ... led UMES freshmen with 10 runs, three doubles, 12 RBI, nine walks and eight sacrifice hits ... hit .193 on the season (27-for-140) ... earned first collegiate hit with single vs. Western Illinois in the Bulldog Classic (2/26) ... hit 2-for-4 with a run and RBI vs. Mount St. Mary's (3/13) for first multi-hit game ... three times hit in three straight games ... went 3-for-6 vs. Norfolk State (4/14) ... member of the National Honor Society of Leadership.
High School/Club: Earned four letters in baseball and one in basketball at Milford High School ... named 2011 Under Armour Preseason All-American ... named 2011 Henlopen All-Conference Outfielder and Academic All-Conference ... 2009 and 2011 Carpenter Cup All-Star ... led 2011 team to school-best 17-3 record and Henlopen conference championship ... reached state playoffs all four years ... won Henlopen South Division in 2009 ... hit .385 in-conference, getting 20 RBI and had most triples in Delaware in senior season ... stole 21 bases junior year ... member of honor roll all four years with 3.9 GPA ... member of National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society ... earned All-American Scholar Award in 2007 ... competed with Delaware Bears, Diamond Dreams, American Legion Red Sox in Milford Big League District I ... named 2010 and 2011 Big League Eastern Regional All-Star and captain ... batted over .400 with Diamond Dreams and Big League team.
