Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks (UMES) (2-29-1) fell to the North Carolina A & T State Aggies in a one game, nine inning contest, by a 12-1 score this afternoon.

UMES took the lead in the first inning, scoring one run when Greg Cathell (2-3 1 run) led off with a walk. He was sacrificed to second by Joel Maher (1-3). Bobby Shaw hit a two out single to left to score Cathell.

The Hawks would only get three more hits, two coming off the bat of Cathell and one from Maher.

The Aggies scored two runs in the second and fourth innings, one in the third and ninth, and a backbreaking six runs in the seventh.

Four Aggies had three hits apiece. Austin Love, Charlie Gamble, Diondre Legrande, and Jeremy Jones were a combined 12-19 with eight runs and five RBIs.

Leon Tilghman took the loss, pitching seven innings and giving up 11 runs while striking out five. Michael Hauff pitched a gem for NCAT going the distance and allowing one run while recording 15 strike outs.
