NORFOLK, Va. - UMES senior Tre-von Johnson has been named to the 2013 MEAC All-Tournament Team on Sunday after a strong performance during the week.

Johnson (East New Market, Md.), who finished his UMES career this past Thursday, earned a place on the MEAC All-Tournament Team for the second time, also being named to the squad in 2011.

The UMES designated hitter batted .625 (5-for-8) for the Hawks in the two games, reaching base six times in nine plate appearances. He was the only UMES player to multi-hit against Savannah State, going 3-for-4 against MEAC Pitcher of the Year Kyle McGowin.

The rest of the team included Savannah State's McGowin, Todd Hagen and David Richards, North Carolina Central's Luis Diaz, Eric Kimber and Troy Marrow, Bethune-Cookman's Eric Sams and Brandon Turner, Coppin State's David Hamlett and North Carolina A&T's Kelvin Freeman.
