Sean Berry joins the University of Maryland Eastern Shore following the completion of a standout prep career at NIA Prep and Irvington High School.
"Sean is a big man with a great combination of size and skill," said Head Coach Frankie Allen. "He has can score the ball in a variety of ways both inside and away from the basket. He will be a great asset to us as he adjusts to the college game."
NIA Prep: Averaged 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks shots per game to lead his team to a 29-7 record and the #11 ranking in the nation in the final U.S. Prep Basketball poll ... Was named 1st Team All-Prep by the New Jersey Star-Ledger and was MVP of the Regional Prep Championship.
Personal: Born August 22, 1989 in Newark, N.J. ... Major is Sociology/Social Work ... Personal best sports memory is playing for his high school in the state football championship ... His mother has had the biggest influence on him because no matter what, she never gave up on him when times got rough ... Graduating high school is his best non-athletic accomplishment ...
