Qavotstaraj Waddell Class: Sophomore Hometown: Norfolk, Va. High School: Coastal Christian Academy Height / Weight: 6-11 / 240 Position: Center

Waddell, a 6-11 center from Norfolk, Va., will adjust to the college game this year after sitting out last season.

Coach's Comments:
Lessett on Waddell: "He will join the MEAC elite and be one of the tallest, if not the tallest player in the league. He was offered scholarships by schools from the ACC, Big Ten, Big South, and Patriot league among others because of his stellar improvement in high school."

Walter Webb, Head Basketball Coach, Coastal Christian Academy, on Waddell: "Waddell is extra long and shoots the mid-range shot extremely well. He is a strong offensive player, but his defense is great as well. He makes big plays and is a bright young man."

High School: Averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks during senior year...Averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds during junior season...Earned third team All-Beach District Honors...Played with Jackie Butler (NY Knicks).

Personal: Born on April 12, 1986 in Norfolk, Va...Son of Joe and Fonda Waddell...Majoring in Exercise Science.
