LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Aleks Maric had 22 points to lead Nebraska to an 86-50 men's basketball win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Friday.

The Cornhuskers (11-2) scored 32 points in just over eight minutes to open the second half.

Nebraska led 36-21 at half. It missed its first shot of the second half, then hit 13 shots in a row on the way to a 68-29 lead with 11:43 remaining. Maric scored 10 of his points during the surge.

Maryland-Eastern Shore (2-12) made just three of its 13 shots during that stretch.

Nebraska's biggest lead was 45 points after Chris Balham's dunk that made the score 75-30 with 8:48 left.

Nebraska opened up an early 14-4 lead on Shang Ping's basket with 13:04 left in the first half. But the Huskers couldn't shake the Hawks, who cut the lead to six with 6:17 left in the half. The Huskers then closed the half on a 13-4 run, six of the points coming from Maric.

Nebraska held Maryland-Eastern Shore to 30 percent shooting for the game and forced 15 Hawk turnovers.

Nebraska shot 57 percent for the game and 62 percent in the second half. The Huskers had 24 assists on 33 made field goals.

Joining Maric in double figures for Nebraska was Ade Dagunduro with 12 points.

Ed Tyson led the Hawks with 16 points and Marc Davis added 11.
