Baltimore - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished its regular season schedule with a difficult 94-68 loss at Morgan State University as the seniors took center stage in the Bears final home game. Led by senior Aaron Andrews perfect night in which he shot 11-11 from the floor for 22 points, MSU had four players score in double-figures. UMES (2-25, 1-17) shot almost 40% from the floor and attempted 29 free throws in the contest, but could not stop the senior trio of Andrews, Christopher Grant and Sam Brand as the group scored 48 of the teams 94 points. Senior guard Theodore Terrell was actually the only Morgan State (12-15, 10-7) player on the roster to not record a point on the evening. In the first half, the Fighting Hawks held the game close as they attempted 12 free throws and converting 10 of the them, compared to MSU's five total attempts. However, Andrews scored 18 of his game-high 22 points in the first half and he held the Bears shot over 54% from the field in the first half (19-35). In the second half, UMES struggled to get to the free throw line early and the lead expanded to as many as 32 points for Morgan State. The maroon and gray had three players reach double-figures led by Tim Parham's 14 points. He missed recording yet another double-double by just one rebound and he grabbed nine in 32 minutes on the floor. Senior Jareem Dowling and junior Corey Brown chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively. The Fighting Hawks will now prepare themselves for the MEAC tournament as they will be the #11 seed and play their first game on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. UMES will face the #6 seed, which has yet to be determined with a few games still remaining in MEAC regular season competition.
