DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball scored a season low in points as Wright State rolled, 87-46, in front of 4,028 fans at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Saturday night.

Junior Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored a team-high 16 points on 7-of-15 from the floor while dishing out three assists and grabbing three rebounds. Fellow junior Freddy Obame Obame (Libreville, Gabon) had a team-high seven rebounds while redshirt freshman Mark Robertson (Lakewood, N.J.) had six.

The Hawks and Raiders went back and forth for the first five and a half minutes of the game and a layup by sophomore Tyler Hines (Sicklerville, N.J.) put UMES up 9-7 at 14:42. This would be the last time the visitors would lead as a three-pointer by WSU's Darian Cartharn put the home team up 10-9.

WSU held the Hawks scoreless for the next six minutes before a layup by White to make the score 20-15. The Raiders went back up by 10 points with baskets by Cory Cooperwood and Tyler Koch before White made a layup while being fouled going into the third media timeout. After the timeout, he made his free throw to bring UMES within seven.

This was the closest the Hawks could come as the Raiders started to break away with a layup and 3-pointer around the three-minute mark to go up by 18. WSU was up 42-20 going into halftime.

UMES started the second half with two 3-pointers by Robertson and one by redshirt sophomore Hillary Haley (Oxon Hill, Md.) to make things 60-29.

Haley would then get into foul trouble with his fourth coming at 10:23. He fouled out just under the six-minute mark.

Three-pointers were the story of the second half for the Hawks. UMES didn't make a single 3-pointer in the first half, but made five in the second. They would go on to make just three regular field goals.

This was UMES' first loss since November 22 when they lost to The Citadel, 88-62, in the Hispanic College Fund Challenge. They fall to 3-6 on the season as WSU improves to 7-4.

Six Raiders had at least nine points in the game and were led by Todd Brown's 16. Paul Darkwa grabbed a game-high eight rebounds for WSU.

The Hawks continue their roadtrip with a matchup against Northern Illinois in DeKalb, Ill. on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m.
