PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Head coach Frankie Allen announced early Thursday morning changes to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball roster. Senior Roland Dunston (Bear, Del.) has joined the team as a walk-on.

"Roland has waited a good while to get an opportunity," said Allen. "We're excited to have him join our team and he will provide an added depth in the backcourt."

Dunston is a graduate of Glasgow High School. As a member of his high school team, he was listed as one of the top 50 players and one of the best defenders in the state of Delaware. Throughout Dunston's career, the 5-9, 165 lb. guard averaged 12 points, five steals and three rebounds per game.

Dunston will wear the number 21 jersey for the Hawks.

Junior guard Jamal Edwards (Mays Landing, N.J.) decided to leave the team for personal reasons.

Dunston and his new teammates take on the South Carolina State Bulldogs Saturday at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center. Tip-off is at 4 p.m.
