MEAC BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT TICKETS NOW ON SALE

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) basketball season is in full swing and tickets are now on sale for the conference tournament, scheduled for March 11-16 at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.
Between now and March 1, University of Maryland Eastern Shore fans, alumni and supporters can receive special discount pricing by getting their tickets from UMES. This discount drops the price down to just $100 per book (adult tickets only) and 50.00 for senior citizens.
With the purchase of this book of tickets, fans are granted admission to five days (24 games) of MEAC Division I men's and women's basketball action.
Tickets can be purchased from the Department of Athletics by calling 410-651-6496, by visiting www.umeshawks.com, or by stopping by the Athletic Administration office in the William P. Hytche Athletic Center on the campus of UMES.
Payments can be made in cash or in check or money order payable to UMES. Credit cards will also be acceptable.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE CUT-OFF DATE FOR RESERVATIONS IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2013; rooms will be released from the block at that time.
Hawk Athletics is also offering special opportunities to win tickets. First, at every home women's and men's game left in the season UMES will give away a pair of MEAC Tournament Tickets. To win, simply register at the MEAC Tournament Ticket table and enter a 1.00 raffle. Each dollar earns one entry into the contest, five dollars gets six entries. Entries remain eligible through the final home game on February 25th.
UMES is also taking to social media to giveaway tickets. Each Wednesday, beginning January 16th and continuing through March 6th, the Hawk Athletics social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook will have a UMES related MEAC Tournament trivia question. A winner will be drawn from all the correct answers at 5 p.m. each day and contacted through private messaging. Keep checking Twitter and Facebook at UMESHarryTHawk each Wednesday for the trivia question.
The MEAC is a Division I basketball program comprised of 13 historically black colleges and universities located across the Atlantic coastline: Bethune-Cookman College, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Savannah State University and South Carolina State University.
Both the men's and women's MEAC Champion will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
