Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men's Basketball program will be featured on ESPN on January 30, 2006. During every ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU men's college basketball telecast there will be a Pride of the Program segment that celebrates a historic moment from each of the 326 Division I programs. Each school will be aired in alphabetical order, with UMES' segment airing on ESPN during the #23 Louisville at #6 Villanova game at 7:00 p.m.

The moments will be narrated by game commentators and may include a combination of video and photography. The season long project will offer fans 30-second vignettes looking back at specific events from any time in the history of each schools program.

From great shots to the memorable players and coaches to the improbable victories, ESPNU's Pride of the Program will encompass the best of the best from the history of college basketball.

The UMES men's basketball program is no stranger to the ESPN networks this season Their first appearance came on ESPN Plus when they took on #20 Iowa on November 14, 2005. They also appeared on ESPNU when they took on MEAC rival Delaware State University on January 16 of this year. The Hawks hope to return to the ESPN networks later this season during the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships in March.
