WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following a four-game homestand, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team travels to the nation's capitol to take on Howard University at 4 p.m. Saturday at Burr Gymnasium.

The Hawks have dropped three straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference games as they most recently fell to Morgan State on Monday at home, 74-61. Redshirt junior Hillary Haley (Oxon Hill, Md.) led UMES in scoring for the ninth time in ten games and had a game-high 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting and 3-for-7 from 3-point range. Haley scored 18 of his points in the second half of play. Junior Tyler Hines (Sicklerville, N.J.) recorded his second double-double of the season with ten points and ten rebounds. Classmate Dishawn Bradshaw (Baltimore, Md.) also chipped in ten points for the Hawks.

UMES is also led in season scoring by Haley, who averages 16.0 points per game. Bradshaw is the only other Hawk who averages in double figures at 11.2 per. Hines leads the team in rebounding with 6.7 boards per.

The Bison have lost nine straight games overall and they are the lone team in the conference without a league win. Their last win came on Dec. 22 against Loyola (Md.). HU ranks last in the MEAC in scoring at 54.9 points per game and have scored under this average in each of their last three games. Mike Phillips leads the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game while Dadrian Collins averages 10.8.

HU leads the overall series between the two schools at 53-42, but lost both games last year to the Hawks.

The game will be broadcast live on the Hawks Radio Network at 95.9 The Sports Animal and on the Internet at UMESHawks.com thanks to allinbroadcasting.com. Dave Vatz has the call for UMES.
