Jan. 30, 2006 Virginia Beach, Va. - The Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today that the University of Maryland Eastern Shore's Troy Jackson (Wilkes Barre, Pa/Laurinberg Prep) has been named the MEAC Rookie of the Week for Men's Basketball. Jackson (Guard, 6-2, 175, Fr.) averaged 26.5 points and five rebounds per game as the Hawks split a pair of MEAC contests. Jackson posted a career-high 33 points in a win over Morgan State while shooting 58 percent (11-of-19) from the floor and 70 percent (7-of-10) from three-point range. This is his second rookie of the week selection. The Hawks and Jackson take on Coppin State University tonight at 7:30 pm in Norfolk, Va.
