Feb. 7, 2010 GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team continues their three-game road trip with a contest at North Carolina A&T Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Ellis F. Corbett Sports Center. The Hawks are currently 6-16 on the season, 4-5 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play and 2-10 on the road. They are coming off of a heartbreaking 64-62 loss at Norfolk State on Saturday. UMES was whistled for basket interference as time expired, which allowed the Spartans to escape with the win. Junior Tim Burns (Franklinville, N.J.) led the Hawks in scoring with 15 points and five assists. Sophomore Tyler Hines (Sicklerville, N.J.) chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds while redshirt sophomore Hillary Haley (Oxon Hill, Md.) had 10 and a career-high nine rebounds. NCAT is 8-15 on the season, with a 6-3 home record and 4-5 in the MEAC. The Aggies defeated Delaware State, 65-54, Saturday evening by shooting 56.1 percent from the floor. Robert Johnson led the way with 17 points and four rebounds while Dwane Joshua added 16 points and Thomas Coleman finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Tavares Alston leads NCAT in scoring with 15.4 points per game, which is good for fourth in the conference. The Aggies lead the all-time series against the Hawks, 58-16. In their last meeting, NCAT defeated UMES, 70-59, to spoil Homecoming for the Hawks. The last time UMES beat the Aggies was January 4, 2006 by a score of 77-75 in Princess Anne, Md. The Hawks last won in Greensboro on January 10, 2004 by a score of 52-50.
