Feb. 10, 2004 Greensboro, NC - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore senior guard, Tee Trotter, was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week today for the week ending February 10th, 2004. This is his second consecutive selection. Trotter seems to be returning to form, averaging almost 18 points a game, almost 20 in conference, where last season he finished averaging over 20 per game. More importantly he has the Hawks on track, winning both games this week, one from MEAC contender and rival Delaware State in overtime (69-66) and last night hitting the game winning lay-in in a thriller at Howard University (56-55). "We are playing as a team," said Head Coach Thomas Trotter. The guys enjoy playing together and are working for and winning for each other. [Tee] has been a big part of that, willing us to win these last few games," he added. The Hawks have one four of their last six, one loss was a double overtime 71-70 upset by Bethune-Cookman. "I think we are in good shape," added Coach Trotter. "We have five home games in a row now and [Tee] is playing great, these two consecutive awards prove that, we need the support from our students and fans during this home stretch and we can be near the top of the MEAC."
Tee Trotter is a candidate for the Francis Pomery Naismith Award, MEAC Player of the Year, and an All-American nominee.
