Feb. 12, 2010 PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team returns home to the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center Saturday as they face the Florida A&M Rattlers at 4 p.m. to begin a four-game homestand. The Hawks are currently 7-17 on the season, 5-5 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play and 4-4 at the Hytche. In their last game, UMES wasn't able to control the paint as they lost, 73-71, at North Carolina Central Wednesday night. The Hawks were outscored, 36-20, in the paint and also outrebounds, 38-25. Redshirt sophomore Hillary Haley (Oxon Hill, Md.) led UMES in scoring with 16 points and added in four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. The Rattlers are 5-18 overall, 2-8 in the MEAC and 1-10 on the road. FAMU is coming off of a 70-44 loss at Coppin State on Monday. Larry Jackson led the team with 13 points and six rebounds. He is also the season leader, averaging 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest. Saturday also marks the annual "Take A Kid to the Game" day where area youth ages 14 and under receive a free ticket with the purchase of a full-price adult ticket. There is a limit of 10 free children's tickets for one full-price adult ticket. In addition to free admission, registrants will also receive other free prizes and have various activities to participate in throughout the afternoon.
