PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team continues their four-game homestand with a 4 p.m. matchup against Coppin State Saturday for Homecoming.

The Hawks are coming off of a 62-56 victory over Bethune-Cookman Monday night at the Hytche. Junior Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) needed five assists to break Jesse Brooks' single season assist record of 142 and recorded seven in the win. Fellow junior Josh Bright (Salisbury, Md.) led UMES in scoring with 12 points, including 3-of-6 from behind the arc and also had five rebounds and four assists. With the win, the Hawks improve to 8-18 on the season and get back to the .500 mark at 6-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

The Eagles had their two-game winning streak snapped by Winston-Salem State Monday in Baltimore, Md. in a 70-60 non-conference defeat. Quinston Reggins led CSU in scoring with 15 points while Michael Harper added in 11 of his own. The Eagles fell to 7-17 on the season and are 2-9 in MEAC play.

This marks the second matchup between the two teams this season. Senior Neal Pitt (Fort Washington, Md.) recorded his second double-double of the season and the 13th of his career, with 17 points and 10 rebounds, as UMES defeated CSU, 70-62, in Baltimore on January 23. The win for the Hawks broke a five-game losing streak to the Eagles.
