Feb. 20, 2006 PRINCESS ANNE, MD - UMES freshman Troy Jackson (Wilkes Barre, Pa.) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday, February 20. Jackson averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in two games for the Hawks last week, including a game-high 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists against Florida A&M (FAMU). The freshman from Wilkes Barre, Pa. also played a game high 37 minutes in a contest against Delaware State on Feb. 13. This is his third Rookie of the Week selection. The Fighting Hawks return to action on Monday, Feb. 20 when they play Bethune-Cookman in a home decision at the Hytche Center. Tip off is slated for 7:30 pm.
