HAWKS TIM PARHAM ON SUGGESTED ROSTER FOR PORTSMOUTH INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Princess Anne, MD - Tim Parham's career at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) may have come to a disappointing end last night at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament in Raleigh, N.C., but he has plenty of basketball still in his future. Parham was recently named as a potential participant in the National Basketball Association's (NBA) pre-draft camp in Portsmouth, Va. by DraftExpress.com.

The website, which follows all potential NBA draft picks including high school, college and international players, listed Parham as one of 64 college seniors who will be selected to attend the camp.

Parham averaged 14 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for UMES. In his final game for the Hawks he recorded his 15th double double of the season and 26th in the last two seasons.

According to DraftExpress.com Parham is predicted to be on a team sponsored by the Norfolk Sports Club. The team also includes Ryan Hollins from UCLA, Walker Russell from Jacksonville State, Louis Amundson from UNLV, Trent Strickland from Wake Forest, Brandon Bowman from Georgetown, Rashad Anderson from Connecticut and Sean Dockery from Duke.

There are many big name players who have been predicted to attend the camp.. The list includes: Pops Mensah-Bonsu from George Washington, Marco Killingsworth from Indiana, Taquan Dean of Louisville, Kevin Pittsnogle from Pittsburgh, J.P. Batista of Gonzaga, David Noel from North Carolina, Chris McCray and Nik Caner-Medley of Maryland and local hero Andre Collins from Loyola MD among many others.

According to the site Parham will be asked to attend before players from Villanova, Oklahoma, Gonzaga and Oklahoma.

As the website warns, "this is not the official list made by the committee, but rather our own personal suggestions and observations of who will or should be invited. The list was made in conjunction with a large number of people who will have a say one way or another in who gets invited and/or attends, including NBA General Managers, Assistant General Managers, Player personnel directors, Scouts, NCAA coaches, NCAA players, NBA agents, who will likely be representing some of these players, as well as others."

The camp, official titled The Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, is one of only two official NBA pre-draft camps, traditionally held the weekend following the NCAA final four in Portsmouth, Virginia. The organizers attempt to assemble the 64 best NCAA senior draft prospects in the country for and eight team, 11 game tournament held over a four day period. The 54th edition of the tournament will be conducted this year from April 5th to April 8th.
