March 11, 2010 Game Notes | Live Audio | Live Stats WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - With their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament win since 2004 last night, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team, the No. 6 seed, takes on No. 3 South Carolina State at 6 p.m. tonight in the quarterfinals at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Hawks were led by redshirt sophomore Hillary Haley's (Oxon Hill, Md.) game-high 25 points in a 64-58 victory over Coppin State in the first round of the Tournament last night. Junior Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored the last 13 points of the game and flirted with a triple-double with 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. UMES and SCSU previously matched up on January 9, with the Bulldogs pulling out a 80-67 victory at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center. Junior Tim Burns (Franklinville, N.J.) scored a game-high 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting. This will be the 57th meeting between the two teams and SCSU currently leads the series, 38-18. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 61-59 loss to Winston-Salem State last week and had a first-round bye in the Tournament. Jason Flagler's 14.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game lead them this season.
