Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) has strengthened its men's basketball coaching staff again, this time naming Chad Alana as an Assistant Coach.

Alana most recently worked for Magic Johnson International as an Associate Agent. He has also served as Head Coach of the Michigan Belles AAU team and several high school programs. In 2003 he coached Lansing Home School to the National Home School Championship as well as taking third in 2004 and second in 2002. He guided two undefeated teams and won five state high school championships in Michigan.

Alana studied Business Management at Liberty University and also holds an Associate Science Degree in Electronics at ITT Technical Institute.

He is married to the former Emily Tanner and has two children, Blaine, 4, and Bailey, 2.
