PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – College Sports Madness released its 2013-14 All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason teams and University of Maryland Eastern Shore senior forward Troy Snyder (Chicago, Ill.) was named to the second team. This is the second preseason award for the Hawks as freshman Hakeem Baxter (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named MEAC Newcomer of the Year by Lindy’s Sports last month.

Snyder was the only Hawk selected in the predictions, which span 20 positions across four teams. His selection comes after he averaged nearly 12 points and 6.8 rebounds per game last season. Snyder had a fantastic junior campaign as he led the team in points (320), rebounds (183), steals (50) and minutes (930).

Norfolk State’s Pendarvis Williams was predicted as MEAC Player of the Year, while James Miller from Howard picked up Freshman of the Year. The list also saw NSU’s Robert Jones named as Coach of the Year. Morgan State and Norfolk State each had three student-athletes named to the teams, while Coppin State, Hampton and North Carolina A&T each had two.

The Hawks will participate in Hawk Hysteria next Friday, Oct. 18, before they begin their season on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m., with a contest at Columbia University.
