PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) basketball season is just around the corner and tickets are now on sale for the conference tournament, scheduled for March 8-13 at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. Between Nov. 9-20, University of Maryland Eastern Shore fans, alumni and supporters can receive a discount of 25% off the original ticket price as a part of the MEAC's Fast Break Special. This discount drops the price down to just $75 per book (adult tickets only). Tickets are originally $100. With the purchase of this book of tickets, fans are granted admission to five days (approximately 20 games) of MEAC Division I men's and women's basketball action. Tickets can be purchased from the Department of Athletics by calling 410-651-6496, by visiting www.umeshawks.com, or by stopping by the Athletic Administration office in the William P. Hytche Athletic Center on the campus of UMES. Payments can be made in cash or in check or money order payable to UMES. The MEAC is a Division I basketball program comprised of 11 historically black colleges and universities located across the Atlantic coastline: Bethune-Cookman College, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T State University, and South Carolina State University. Both the men's and women's MEAC Champion will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
