HAWKS ON QUEST FOR FIRST WIN AS THEY HOST KEAN SATURDAY

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team finishes their four games in nine days swing Saturday as they host Kean University at 2 p.m. at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center.
In their last game, senior Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 19 points for UMES, but the Hawks were unable to overcome American University as they lost, 65-58, Wednesday night at Bender Arena in Washington, D.C. Junior Dishawn Bradshaw (Baltimore, Md.) and redshirt junior Hillary Haley (Oxon Hill, Md.) continue to play well for UMES (0-3) as they each chipped in nine points while senior Freddy Obame Obame (Libreville, Gabon) registered a game-high nine rebounds.
White leads the team with an average of 14.7 points and 6.3 assists per game. The Hawks are led in rebounding by junior Tyler Hines (Sicklerville, N.J.) with an average of 6.0 per game.
Kean is currently 2-0 on the season, grabbing an 81-78 victory at Delaware Valley College on Monday and a 69-57 win at York College (N.Y.) on Wednesday. The Cougars were selected to finish second in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Southern Division in the pre-season coaches' poll. They are led by senior Jonathan Jones, who is averaging 20.5 points and 16.0 rebounds through two games this season.
Saturday's matchup will be the first between the Hawks and Cougars.
